Penn State Abington Lion Ambassadors
FAQs
What is the time commitment?

We require Lion Ambassadors to have at least one tour hour each week, to attend the bi-weekly general body meeting during Common Break, to fulfill at least three volunteer events, and to attend each mandatory Admissions Open House (typically 2-3 Saturdays per semester). But it is what you make out of it. The amount of time you wish to devote to the organization is totally up to you. You can always volunteer to do special tasks and events if you wish to! Also, academics and mental health will always come first.

Are Lion Ambassadors paid?

The Lion Ambassadors are a student organization on campus and it is a volunteer position. However, we get paid with lifelong friends, amazing experiences, and countless memories. It’s worth it!
If you are available in the summertime, we are typically able to get paid for the admissions summer events.

Can I still be in other clubs/organizations even if I already hold membership with the Lion Ambassadors?
Yes! A lot of our current members hold positions or memberships in other clubs and organizations. We have a specific amount of requirements to fulfill though. If you are in other clubs and organizations, it is important you are still fulfilling your Lion Ambassador duties and that you keep yourself in check with what you can handle.

Do Lion Ambassadors do anything other than tours?

Of course! Aside from assisting the admissions team with recruitment, open houses, and daily tours, our ambassadors are a family and a community. We often host on campus events that the student body can attend, such as a haunted house, and will plan other social events to spend time together, such as getting food, going to amusement parks, and potluck get-togethers.
