How to Join

 

Students interested in joining must submit an application. Please visit our Application Page in the drop-down of the "Apply" button on our menu. Applications will open on July 26th, 2019.

Qualifications for Membership

 

Eligible members are current students at Penn State Abington who hold a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA.

First-year students are eligible to apply.

All returning ambassadors must maintain this 2.5 GPA to continue to be a member of this organization.

Responsibilities of Members

​

  • Attend bi-weekly meetings

  • Conduct tours for prospective students and their families and special guests of Penn State Abington

  • Attend and actively participate in events including but not limited to training, tour shadowing, Open Houses and Accepted Student Programs, volunteer hours such as VIP tours and group visits, fundraisers, and social events

All applications are submitted through the google form on this site. Any issues with our online application please contact Susanna Kelley at sjk423@psu.edu or visit her office in 106 Sutherland.

Selection Process

 

Applicants will be reviewed by the Penn State Abington Lion Ambassador Executive Board and their staff advisers. Once they have reviewed all applications, they will then decide on who will make it to the interviews.

Applicants chosen for an interview will be notified via e-mail and will be prompted to select an interview time. This will take place within the first two weeks of classes. 

Following interviews, the executive board and advisers will review all applicants and make their decisions on membership based on Lion Ambassador values and qualifications. Applicants selected to be Lion Ambassadors will be contacted via phone or e-mail and given further instructions from there.
